Kapuso actress and TV host Shuvee Etrata made a strong statement about her stance on premarital sex, asserting that she won’t easily give away her virginity—even in the name of love.
The revelation came during her candid conversation with Vice Ganda in the latest vlog episode of his vlog, where topics around love, relationships, and sex were discussed openly. Shuvee, a former ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemate, didn’t hold back in sharing her beliefs.
“I don’t support premarital sex,” Shuvee said firmly. “Kasi non-negotiable po sa akin ang sex.”
She further explained that she finds it difficult to trust people, yet she remains open to the idea of love. “Gusto ko rin namang magmahal,” she said. “Pero para sa akin, I don’t believe in [casual sex]. Kasi bakit ka manggagamit ng ibang tao? Ibibigay mo yun, tapos you’re gonna make it easy for them to get you, and then hindi mo naman talaga ‘yun bina-value.”
The Cebuana host also shared her frustration about how some men perceive women from the province. “Feeling nila, taga-isla tapos makuha agad nila yung virginity [ko],” she explained. “Dinede-value nila ako as a woman… feeling nila taga-probinsya, kaya nilang loko-lokohin.”
Shuvee revealed that she has been approached by several men, including a popular Kapamilya actor—something her friend and fellow Kapuso star Ashley Ortega corroborated. Ashley even advised her to stop entertaining the said actor. “Parang alam ko lang din kasi ‘yung parang ginagawa nila kay Shuvee,” Ashley said.
Vice Ganda, reacting in disbelief, asked, “Ay, ganun talaga? Virginity agad?”
Shuvee responded seriously: “Sometimes yun ang tingin ng lalaki sa akin.”
Despite having suitors, including fellow Sparkle artist Anthony Constantino, Shuvee maintains that she has never been in a romantic relationship. She admitted that Anthony’s consistent efforts—including inviting her to church—left a meaningful impact on her.
“Yung pagdadala niya sa akin sa church, ang laking bagay,” she said. “Kasi minsan, yung Sunday, I would rather just rest. Yung time na mini-make effort niya talaga ako para dalhin doon.”
Shuvee also confessed that she was the first to have a crush on Anthony, revealing with a laugh: “Ako ang unang nagka-crush, e. Kasi crush ko si Donny [Pangilinan], sobrang crush ko si Donny, naghanap ako ng kamukha ni Donny.”
Despite the kilig and admiration, Shuvee made it clear that when it comes to her values and personal boundaries, she won’t compromise. “Virginity is not something I’ll give away just because I’m in love,” she concluded.
