After 17 long years, singer Bugoy Drilon has finally fulfilled a heartfelt promise he made to his mother before joining ‘Pinoy Dream Academy’ season two.

On August 24, Bugoy shared on Facebook four photos of a brand-new home, revealing that it was a promise he made to his mom nearly two decades ago.
“Bago ako sumali sa Pinoy Dream Academy, nangako ako kay Mama na kapag nanalo ako, ibibigay ko sa kanya ang bahay na deserve niya. Hindi man agad natupad, inabot ng 17 taon bago ko tuluyang naipon at naibigay ito sa kanila,” he wrote.
Bugoy admitted that what made the moment special was not just the house itself, but the fulfillment of a promise: “Ang sarap sa pakiramdam hindi dahil sa bahay, kundi dahil natupad ko ang isa sa mga pangako ko.”
The OPM balladeer expressed gratitude for the blessings in his career and to those who helped make his dream a reality.
“Maraming salamat, Lord, sa lahat ng biyayang dumating sa buhay ko. Forever grateful. Salamat din, brother Engineer @darwingatela sa pagtulong para maging totoo ang pangarap na ’to. God bless you.”
Bugoy rose to fame after finishing as the second Big Dreamer in ‘Pinoy Dream Academy’ season two in 2008. He went on to become one of OPM’s most recognizable voices, best known for hits such as ‘Paano Na Kaya,’ ‘Dati,’ and ‘Bakit Ba Ikaw.’
Recently, he concluded a joint tour with Daryl Ong and also joined Angeline Quinto for her 10Q U.S. tour. His latest single “Last Chance” features collaborations with Ong and Khel Pangilinan.
