Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin had surprising praise for Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo after Vice Ganda made a playful jab at her during the recent ‘Super Divas’ concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

During the show, Vice spotted her friends Lassy Marquez and MC Muah in the audience and quipped,
“Malulungkot na naman si Cristy. Masisira ‘yong narrative ni Cristy na magkakaaway tayo. Huwag kayong mag-alala, may magtatanggol sa atin,” before pointing to Bea, who was watching with her boyfriend, businessman Vincent Co.
“Bea, you handle it! Sagot tayo ni Ate Bea, siya nang bahala, magdadasal lang tayo,” Vice added.
The joke came amid ongoing tension between Vice and Fermin, as well as the issuance of a warrant of arrest against Fermin and her co-hosts over Bea’s cyber libel complaint.
In the August 11 episode of ‘Cristy Ferminute’, Fermin commended Bea for not engaging with Vice’s banter.
“Alam mo, pupurihin ko si Bea Alonzo, ha. Kasi ang ginawa niya parang (umiiwas siya). Kinaswal niya. Gano’n ang taong nag-iisip. Hindi nagpapagamit,” she said.
Fermin contrasted Bea’s reaction with that of MC and Lassy, who she claimed “allowed themselves to be used” by Vice when they went along with the comedian’s jokes.
The columnist has previously expressed sympathy for MC after Vice confronted him in a vlog last May, saying, “Masyado akong naapektuhan para kay MC, ‘yong pagluha niya, ‘yong paghagulhol niya.”
Addressing Vice’s remark that her “narrative” of a rift among the three friends would be ruined, Fermin responded: “Anong content? Ano? Inimbento namin ‘yong kuwento? Hindi kami nag-iimbento ng kuwento. May binasa kami. Alam mo ‘yan, MC!”
Fermin, along with co-hosts Rommel Villamor and Wendell Alvarez, is currently facing a cyber libel case filed by Bea Alonzo over what the actress described as “false, malicious, and damaging” statements. The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 93 has set their bail at ₱48,000 each.
