A powerhouse collaboration is set to make waves in Philippine cinema as Star Cinema, GMA Pictures, and Regal Entertainment officially announced their joint project ‘Love You So Bad’, headlined by rising stars Will Ashley, Dustin Yu, and Bianca De Vera.
The film will be directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, the box-office filmmaker behind hits like ‘Crazy Beautiful You’, ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’, and ‘Rewind’.

The announcement, which first trended on social media through Star Cinema’s #NewMovieAlert teaser, immediately sparked buzz among fans.
Observant netizens pointed out the heart emojis in blue, pink, and yellow—colors they connected to Will, Bianca, and Dustin respectively. The teaser caption, “When hearts collide. Desires clash. But love wins,” also fueled speculation, with fans noting the first letters mirrored the trio’s initials.
Excitement further intensified when Regal Entertainment reposted the announcement and Kapuso executives joined in the hype, confirming Dustin’s involvement as one of Regal’s managed talents. The project taps into the frenzy of fan-driven love teams, particularly the strong following of “WillCa” (Will & Bianca) and “DustBia” (Dustin & Bianca), whose showdown number at ‘The Big ColLove’ fan concert drew the loudest cheers from fans.

Speaking to ‘TV Patrol’, Will Ashley called the film a “dream come true,” while Dustin Yu admitted he is a long-time admirer of Cruz-Alviar’s works and feels honored to be part of the project. Bianca De Vera, meanwhile, shared her excitement: “I’m very, very happy to be part of a movie like this, especially with two people who mean so much to me.”

The screenplay, written by Crystal San Miguel, draws inspiration from the 1998 cult classic ‘Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita’ starring Rico Yan, Claudine Barretto, and Diether Ocampo. Cruz-Alviar, however, clarified that ‘Love You So Bad’ is not a remake but rather a contemporary story that speaks to today’s generation.
The project also marks a reunion for Bianca and Will, who first teamed up in the ABS-CBN–GMA Network co-production ‘Unbreak My Heart’ in 2023, adding another layer of excitement for WillCa fans. Meanwhile, Bianca and Dustin are set to star in a music video together before the film starts production, further fueling anticipation for both DustBia and WillCa shippers.
As Roselle Monteverde of Regal Films teased in her post: “Soon.”
