Comedienne and TV host Pokwang did not mince words as she voiced her frustration over the alleged misuse of public funds in the government’s flood control projects.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, August 29, Pokwang expressed her dismay at the children of contractors and officials allegedly linked to the controversial projects, who have been flaunting their luxury lifestyle online.

“May trangkaso ako ngayon kaka trabaho para meron silang pang flex ng mga bongga nilang lifestyle!! Huy mga nak wag kayo mag-deactivate ng mga socmed nyo! para alam ng taong bayan na napapasaya namin kayo,” she wrote.

Her comments come amid growing public outrage over reports that several construction companies were awarded multimillion-peso contracts by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) despite allegations of anomalies.

The controversy intensified after recent typhoons triggered massive flooding in Metro Manila and other parts of the country, leading many to question how billions of pesos in flood control funds were spent.

Pokwang’s post quickly drew agreement from her followers, many of whom echoed her sentiments on social media and called for greater accountability from public officials and their families.

The comedian joins a growing list of celebrities and personalities speaking out against the issue, as public pressure mounts on the government to investigate and hold accountable those linked to the alleged corruption.
