Actor Romnick Sarmenta appeared to poke fun at calls to boycott products endorsed by comedian-host Vice Ganda, saying he had ordered from a fast food chain the latter promotes—even if he wasn’t that hungry.

“Sa ingay ng pagtawag… Napa order ako. Kahit di naman masyadong gutom,” Sarmenta posted on X (formerly Twitter) on August 11, along with a screenshot of his real-time order tracking, topped with a “LOL” sticker.

The boycott calls arose after Vice Ganda made a joke during a recent concert with Regine Velasquez, which supporters of former president Rodrigo Duterte claimed was aimed at him. Duterte is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands, over a crimes against humanity case.
Sarmaenta, known for voicing his political opinions, has also recently criticized public officials he believes twist the law. In June, he remarked about being “inosente pero 16 ang kinuhang abogado”—a comment netizens linked to Vice President Sara Duterte’s legal team for her impeachment trial.
