TCL Electronics has partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to launch the TESDA-TCL Center on July 31, 2025, at the TESDA Complex in Taguig City.
The initiative aims to equip Filipinos with job-ready skills through hands-on training in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) technologies.
Housed within TESDA’s Regional Training Center-NCR at the CCI Hub, the state-of-the-art facility features top-tier TCL appliances and equipment—including voice-controlled air conditioners—to provide immersive, real-world training aligned with global standards.
The launch was attended by top TCL executives including Brand Manager Joseph Cernitchez, Deputy Director for Marketing Shae Yu Xiaoling, and Deputy Director for Air Conditioner and B2B Business Bert Cheung, along with TESDA NCR officials Regional Director Engr. Jovencio Ferrer, Jr., District Director Maria Gracia dela Rama, and Center Administrator Eugene Agcaoili.
Agcaoili highlighted the significance of the partnership in addressing the evolving needs of the labor market: “The donation of these TCL appliances and equipment will not only strengthen our HVAC training programs, but will also provide our trainees with direct exposure to advanced technologies that meet global industry standards. This collaboration is a testament to what we can achieve when the public and private sector work hand-in-hand.”
Beyond equipment donations, the collaboration supports an end-to-end approach to upskilling, with TCL committing to train TESDA instructors and support student placement with its partner dealer network.
“We are offering real-world training, mentorship from our service experts, and a clear path from education to employment,” said TCL’s Bert Cheung. “This partnership aligns with TESDA’s National Workforce Development Agenda and supports a strong technical talent pipeline.”
Brand Manager Cernitchez echoed the company’s holistic vision: “This is end-to-end. We equip the training center, train TESDA’s trainers, and help graduates transition to employment. We want to bring the full spirit of ‘enrollment to employment.’”
