Authorities are searching for Journey frontman Arnel Pineda after a Quezon City court issued a bench warrant in connection with a domestic violence case filed by his estranged wife.

Judge Mary Ann Punzalan-Toribio of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 99 issued the warrant on September 10, 2025, after Pineda repeatedly failed to attend hearings, including his scheduled arraignment that day.
A sheriff attempted to serve the warrant on September 12 but was unable to locate the singer. The court has since reset Pineda’s arraignment to September 17, with the warrant to remain in effect should he again fail to appear.
The court set bail at ₱72,000, though Pineda’s earlier cash bond has already been revoked.
The complaint, filed under the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262), alleged years of “verbal assaults, manipulation, and coercive behavior” by Pineda, which eventually forced his wife to leave their home.
Prosecutors noted that tensions between the two date back to 2003, when they were still living together and she discovered Pineda’s alleged infidelities. The couple married in 2008, a year after Pineda’s life changed dramatically when he became the lead vocalist of the American rock band Journey.
Despite his rise to fame and financial success, the wife claimed their marriage was strained by repeated cheating and “controlling behavior.” She also said she endured public humiliation, even as her own earnings were used to support their family and two children.
Pineda, in turn, filed a counter-complaint of adultery against his estranged wife.
As of press time, Pineda and his camp have yet to release a statement.
