During the September 19 episode of It’s Showtime, student contestant Bismarck from the University of the Philippines captivated viewers as he advanced to the final round of the Laro Laro Pick segment. With the jackpot prize sitting at a staggering ₱600,000, expectations were high for the UP scholar to go all the way.

The final question, however, proved to be a cruel twist of fate. Bismarck was asked to name the most commonly-used password online in 2025. His answer—“1234”—was heartbreakingly close. The correct response, “123456,” slipped past him by just two digits. The studio erupted in a mix of gasps and sympathetic applause as the jackpot slipped from his grasp.
Support quickly poured in from the show’s hosts. Jhong Hilario, Vhong Navarro, and Ogie Alcasid pledged ₱10,000 to Bismarck as a consolation, on top of the ₱1,000 he had already earned earlier in the game. Their gesture was met with cheers from the audience, recognizing the student’s effort and near-win.
Later in the Tawag ng Tanghalan segment, Vhong Navarro shared an unexpected update. “Balik tayo sa Laro-Laro Pick, kasi magbibigay kami, magpi-pledge kami ng ₱10,000 kay Bismarck nina Kuya Ogie at Jhong,” he said. “Gusto naming magpasalamat kay Shuvee, kasi dadagdagan pa niya ng another ₱10,000 pesos. Kaya si Bismarck ay meron nang ₱20,000.”
Shuvee Etrata’s pledge added a layer of emotional resonance to the moment. “Deserved ni Kuya kasi konting-konti na lang. He almost got it. Para sa mga iskolar natin dyan,” she explained, her words striking a chord with viewers who understood the weight of missed opportunities.
Vhong responded with admiration: “Shuvee, ang buti mo.”
Since her breakout in PBB Celebrity Collab Edition, Shuvee has been fully booked with shows and endorsements. Yet her humility remains intact. Having faced rejection and hardship in her early showbiz journey, she’s become more empathetic toward stories that mirror her own.
Bismarck’s near-win became more than just a game show moment—it turned into a quiet celebration of grit, generosity, and shared struggle. Thanks to Shuvee’s pledge, the episode ended not with disappointment, but with a reminder that kindness often fills the gap where luck falls short.
