Kapuso star and ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ alumna Shuvee Etrata has spoken up about old clips and posts that resurfaced online, clarifying her supposed remarks about Vice Ganda.

The controversy started when a vlog clip of Shuvee resurfaced where she was asked if she would “jowa” or “tropa” Vice. In the video, she was seen reacting with an “eww,” which many netizens interpreted as a sign of disrespect.
In an interview with ‘TV Patrol’ correspondent MJ Felipe, Shuvee explained that the reaction was never meant to insult Vice. “Nag-eww ako kasi parehas kaming girl,” she said, adding that the clip was taken out of context.
The Kapuso star also pointed out that she has always been a fan of Vice and of ‘It’s Showtime’. “I really love Showtime. I’m really grateful for Meme [Vice] for giving me the opportunity to be on Showtime. Dati, napapanood ko lang siya, then suddenly, I was there co-hosting. Sobrang big deal for me iyon,” Shuvee said.
Amid the backlash, Shuvee said she reached out directly to Vice Ganda to explain her side. “I sent a message regarding the fake news. Sabi ko, ‘Meme, I was always honest about my feelings to you. I never lied. I’ll wait. I’m here to wait naman.’”

She revealed that she and Vice will see each other again soon for the shooting of the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival entry ‘Call Me Mother’, where both are part of the cast. “Maybe we can talk things out,” Shuvee added.
Despite the controversy, Shuvee stressed she has nothing but respect for Vice Ganda and remains thankful for the comedian’s support during her career transition after PBB.
