Amid the barrage of criticism over old posts and clips, Kapuso star Shuvee Etrata has decided to deactivate her X (formerly Twitter) account, citing the need to protect her mental health.

“For my mental health kasi medyo malala,” Shuvee told ‘TV Patrol’s’ MJ Felipe. “Pero miss ko na rin [yung account]. I’ll always take constructive criticisms, but if it’s really hate, ‘yun ‘yung parang hindi ko nagi-gets.”
The former ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemate admitted that the online backlash has been emotionally overwhelming. “Masakit din kasi kapag sobra silang nagju-judge at hindi ko nasasabi yung saloobin ko. Parang pinagtutulungan ako ng lahat. Nagtataka ako, may tinapakan ba akong tao? May ninakaw ba ako? May ginawa ba talaga akong kamuhi-muhi?” she said.
Shuvee revealed that there were nights she couldn’t sleep, replaying the criticisms in her head. But she also acknowledged the support system around her, including fellow ‘PBB Collab’ alum Klarisse de Guzman, who has been by her side.
Despite the challenges, Shuvee said she’s determined to move forward stronger. “I would really say this—I’ve made decisions before, but I’m really confident to say that right now, you’re facing the better Shuvee. One who decides and thinks for the betterment of others,” she said.
Her decision echoes the growing trend among celebrities who temporarily leave social media for mental health breaks.
Shuvee assured fans that while she may have stepped back from X, she remains grateful for the constructive feedback and will continue to focus on her projects.
