Bryan Chong Takes Flight in First Album ‘Departure’

Kapamilya singer Bryan Chong embarks on a heartfelt journey through “Departure,” his debut album that traces the bittersweet process of leaving one chapter to begin another.

The former “Idol Philippines” season 2 finalist wrote all seven tracks featured in his album, including “Isang Gabi,” “MLNDE!,” “Hindi Tayo,” “Tahan,” “Sugal,” and his earlier releases “Ereplano” and “K*pal.” StaPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos served as the album’s producer.

The key track “MLNDE!” reflects Bryan’s honest reckoning with his past approach to love. The song lays bare the emotions his former partners may have felt as he faces his own imperfections. Through mistakes like cheating, flirting, and ghosting, he admits to learning hard lessons—without glorifying them.

The StarPop artist first stepped into the music scene in 2017 as a contestant on the inaugural season of “The Voice Teens Philippines,” where he became part of Sarah Geronimo’s team. Five years later, Bryan returned to the spotlight in “Idol Philippines” Season 2, finishing as one of the competition’s top 5 finalists.

In 2019, he released his debut single “Pakiusap,” which earned him nominations at the 12th PMPC Star Awards for Music for Male Acoustic Artist of the Year and New Male Recording Artist of the Year.

Bryan served as a guest performer in “BGYO Now: The First Solo Concert” and Klarisse de Guzman’s “The Big Night” concert where he performed “Ereplano.”

Listen to Bryan’s debut album “Departure” available on all streaming platforms. For more details, follow StarPop on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok. For updates, follow @abscbnpr on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok, or visit corporate.abs-cbn.com/newsroom.
