After appearing in the film ‘Outside de Familia’, rising singer-actor Dwayne Garcia has released his latest single ‘Para Na Muna,’ written by veteran composer Joven Tan and produced under Star Music.
This marks Garcia’s second official single following his 2024 debut track ‘Taym Perst Muna.’

Garcia shared that he first entered showbiz through acting workshops with Star Magic, which eventually led to minor roles in Knowledge Channel shows and supporting roles in TV projects. While acting was his initial entry point, music has always been his bigger passion.
“I’ve wanted to be a singer and an actor since I was a child,” Garcia said during the media launch. “Passion ko po ito. Pinilit ko po sila nung bata ako. Sabi ko, ‘Mommy, gusto ko pong mag-workshop sa Star Magic.’ ‘Yung support po nila ang nag-help sa akin.”
Although his parents manage a thriving construction business and beauty company, Garcia admits he is less inclined to follow the family path. “They always encourage and guide me. Suportado po nila ako,” he said.
Despite not having formal voice training, Garcia dreams of making it as a recording artist. He looks up to Michael Jackson and, locally, to Juan Karlos Labajo and BINI. He hopes to collaborate one day with SB19 or Juan Karlos.
On the acting side, he draws inspiration from acclaimed Filipino actors such as John Arcilla and Elijah Canlas. “Ina-idolize ko po si Elijah Canlas. Gusto ko po siyang makatrabaho. Natural na natural po siya,” he said, recalling how Canlas’ performance in Keys to the Heart left a lasting impression.
Garcia also revealed his interest in action projects, having grown up watching FPJ films with his grandfather.
His new single, ‘Para Na Muna,’ delves into the struggles of staying in an unhealthy relationship. According to Garcia, the song is about knowing when to pause and step back.
“It’s about an unhealthy relationship. Kailangan mo munang tumigil kapag hindi ka na masaya o pakiramdam mo ay hindi na tama ang mga nangyayari,” he explained.
The track, he believes, is something many listeners can relate to. “Maraming makaka-relate sa song na ito. Sana kapag pinakinggan nila, ma-realize nila na kailangan natin ng break. Kailangan po natin ng time to restore, repair. Hopefully, ma-LSS po sila.”

Following ‘Outside de Familia’, Garcia teased that more projects are in the works. “May mga niluluto po kaming projects after Outside de Familia,” he said, keeping details under wraps for now.
With supportive parents, growing fan attention, and back-to-back opportunities in acting and music, Garcia hopes to continue pursuing his childhood dream.
‘Para Na Muna’ is now streaming on Spotify and all major digital music platforms under Star Music. (with reports from Loyd Pino)
