Actress Inah de Belen didn’t hold back in responding to a netizen who criticized her for living with her longtime boyfriend, actor Jake Vargas.
The couple, who have been together since 2016, often share glimpses of their life together on social media. But one of Inah’s recent Facebook posts — a lighthearted video of her and Jake dancing to Olivia Dean’s ‘Man I Need’ — drew an unsolicited remark from a commenter.
“Ang babata pa, nag-live in na,” the netizen wrote.
Inah quickly corrected the misconception, replying with humor and confidence: “[N]ay, 33 years old na po kami, mag-research po muna kayo.”
Her clapback earned applause from fans who praised her for gracefully handling the criticism. Many also chimed in to defend the couple: “Tingin siguro ni nanay bata pa kayo kasi baby face kayong dalawa.” “At least napagkamalan kayong bata!” “Judgmental naman. Pati buhay ng ibang tao pinakikialaman nyo.” “Kadalasan yung nagli-live in may forever. Yung kinakasal, minsan ilang buwan lang.”
Some even joked, “Wag kasi kayo mag live-in… mag live-out daw kayo!”
Inah and Jake, who started dating after working together on a GMA Network drama series in 2016, have now been living together for more than three years.
While marriage isn’t in their immediate plans, the couple have both expressed that they’re happy and content with their relationship as it is.
“We’re adults, but thank you haha,” Inah previously wrote in another response. “Nay, 33 years old na po kami. Mag-research po muna kayo.”
