Two of the country’s biggest comedy icons, Michael V. and Vice Ganda, finally shared the same stage in a historic collaboration for the 30th anniversary special of ‘Bubble Gang’ — a moment fans have long been waiting for.

The anniversary episode, which aired on Sunday, October 26, featured Vice Ganda joining Michael V.’s iconic character Mr. Assimo in a special comedy sketch that had viewers laughing nonstop.
In an interview with GMA Network, Michael V. — also known as Direk Bitoy — admitted that both he and Vice Ganda were nervous before filming began.
“Pareho kaming kinakabahan,” he shared. “Pareho kaming ninenerbyos, siguro dahil nag-a-anticipate kami, hindi namin alam ‘yung how it is to work with each other.
Bitoy added that the nervous energy helped break the ice between them: “The same with na-realize niya ‘yun na tao lang din pala ako. Pareho kami ng emotions, pareho kami ng nararamdaman — and mabuti na lang it turned out really, really well.”
For Vice Ganda, guesting on ‘Bubble Gang’ was nothing short of a dream come true. The ‘It’s Showtime’ host expressed his admiration for the show’s legacy and how it shaped generations of Filipino comedians.

Actress and comedian Chariz Solomon, who also appeared in the sketch, described the experience as both humbling and inspiring.
“Validating na kaba is always good, at tao pa rin tayo at the end of the day.
Vice Ganda’s ‘Bubble Gang’ debut marked a rare moment of unity between two powerhouse comedians from rival networks, delighting fans from both camps.
The sketch — blending Vice’s quick-witted banter and Bitoy’s timeless humor — quickly trended online, with netizens calling it a “historic crossover in Philippine comedy.”
