Filipinos love a good comparison — and the latest buzz on social media pits the OG girl group SexBomb Girls against the current Nation’s Girl Group, BINI.

The conversation intensified as both groups prepare for major concerts: BINI at the Philippine Arena on November 29, SexBomb Girls for their reunion concerts at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on December 4 and a second show at the MOA Arena on December 9.
Because both groups boast strong fanbases and influential careers in their respective eras, netizens began asking: “SexBomb or BINI — sino ang panalo sa puso ng fans?” Online comments ranged from diplomatic to fiercely loyal.
Some fans also pointed out that SexBomb’s Araneta show is already sold out, while BINI’s Philippine Arena concert is not yet full — though many clarified that SexBomb is coming back after more than a decade, which naturally intensifies nostalgia and demand. BINI, on the other hand, has already sold out multiple concerts across several venues in recent years.
But what do SexBomb Girls themselves think about being compared to BINI?
SexBomb to netizens: “We’re not competing.”
In their guesting on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, SexBomb members Aira Bermudez and Aifha Medina addressed the comparisons head-on — with calm, grace, and admiration for BINI.
“Siguro nung time namin deserve namin, pero time ng BINI ngayon. We have to respect that,” said Aira.
She added that Filipinos should be proud of BINI’s achievements and what they are doing for OPM and P-pop. “Lahat tayo may timing sa buhay, tsaka ni-re-represent nila ‘yung country natin, so we have to be proud sa narating nila.”

Aifha echoed the sentiment and emphasized that the title of Nation’s Girl Group rightfully belongs to BINI.
“Bigay na natin sa kanila ‘yan.” She added firmly, “Hindi po kami nakikipag-compete.”
The SexBomb Girls dominated 2000s pop culture through their noontime show performances, bestselling albums, and long-running afternoon series Daisy Siete. Even after disbanding, the group remains deeply embedded in Filipino nostalgia — proven again when several members reunited in 2023 for a viral Netflix ad featuring their iconic ‘Spaghetti Song.’
While netizens continue to debate online, one thing is clear: SexBomb and BINI belong to different generations of fandom — both influential, both beloved, and both worth celebrating.
And as Aira said, “Lahat tayo may timing sa buhay.”
For now, it’s BINI’s era — and SexBomb themselves are cheering them on.
