GMA Pictures is gearing up for a strong and diverse 2026 slate, unveiling a lineup that highlights bold storytelling across animation, documentary, and horror genres.
One of the most anticipated titles is 58th, an animated documentary co-produced by GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Carl Joseph Papa, the film pays tribute to the victims of the Maguindanao massacre while focusing on the life of Reynaldo “Bebot” Momay, recognized as the 58th victim of the tragedy. The project aims to revisit one of the darkest chapters in Philippine history through a powerful and reflective animated form.
Also joining the 2026 lineup is Ella Arcangel, an animated feature adapted from the acclaimed 2017 comic book series by Julius Villanueva. The film is directed by National Book Awardee Mervin Malonzo, and is expected to bring a visually rich and imaginative world to the big screen.
Expanding further into genre filmmaking, GMA Pictures is collaborating with Mentorque Productions for the horror feature Huwag Kang Titingin, directed by Frasco Mortiz. The film boasts a star-studded cast led by Sofia Pablo, Allen Ansay, Marco Masa, Michael Sager, Sean Lucas, Kira Balinger, Josh Ford, Anthony Constantino, Charlie Fleming, Shuvee Etrata, and Sherilyn Reyes.
With socially relevant narratives, innovative animation, and commercial genre appeal, GMA Pictures’ 2026 film slate underscores its commitment to elevating Filipino cinema and delivering world-class stories for local and global audiences.
