Miss Universe Asia 2024 Chelsea Manalo underscored the importance of preparation when traveling, as Palawan ProtekTODO Travel Insurance positions itself as an accessible safeguard for Filipino travelers.

Offered by the Palawan Group of Companies, the insurance product is designed to address common travel disruptions such as flight delays, lost baggage, and trip cancellations—risks that continue to affect both domestic and international journeys.
With plans starting at ₱39 and coverage reaching over ₱1.5 million, Palawan ProtekTODO aims to bridge the gap for travelers who often skip insurance due to perceived cost or lack of necessity.
“Traveling with peace of mind means knowing you’re covered no matter what happens. As Filipinos, we really value every trip, so it’s important to protect it as well. Having travel insurance gives you that extra layer of confidence. You get to enjoy the experience without constantly worrying about what could go wrong. At the end of the day, it’s not about expecting problems, but being ready for them,” Manalo said.
Palawan Group President and CEO Karlo M. Castro emphasized that the initiative aligns with the company’s broader mission of serving Filipinos.
“At Palawan Group of Companies, everything we do is guided by our commitment to serve Filipinos with genuine care. As more Filipinos embrace travel for family leisure and new opportunities, we recognize that protection is just as essential as convenience. We aim to make travel protection simple, affordable, and within reach so Filipinos can move forward with confidence, knowing they are prepared for the unexpected,” Castro said.
The product is underwritten by Alliedbankers Insurance Corporation, combining technical expertise with Palawan’s nationwide reach to ensure accessible and reliable coverage.
In one case cited by the company, a traveler whose luggage was left behind during a connecting flight was able to quickly receive a payout through a Palawan Pawnshop–Palawan Express Pera Padala branch, helping turn a stressful situation into a manageable one.
The initiative comes amid sustained travel activity in the country. According to the Bureau of Immigration, a total of 15.6 million passenger arrivals were processed nationwide in 2025, reflecting continued mobility among Filipinos.
To further expand access, Palawan Group Chief Business Development Officer Lisa Castro-Sabado said the company is leveraging both physical branches and digital platforms.
“Expanding access to ProtekTODO means meeting Filipinos wherever they are. By combining our nationwide branch network with digital platforms like the PalawanPay app and e-commerce channels, we make travel protection more accessible even for those in remote or underserved areas. At the same time, we continue to strengthen awareness and understanding of travel insurance, reinforcing that protection is not just for long or international trips, but for every journey,” she said.

Available through Palawan Pawnshop–Palawan Express Pera Padala branches nationwide, as well as via the PalawanPay app, Lazada, and Shopee, Palawan ProtekTODO is positioned as a practical solution aimed at helping travelers navigate uncertainties with greater confidence.
