Television host Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla said she remains unaffected by the controversies and criticisms surrounding her husband, Senator Robin Padilla.

Speaking during the special screening of ‘Bad Boy 3’ in Quezon City, Mariel admitted she is even surprised by her own resilience despite the issues being thrown at their family.
“I don’t get affected like how people would like or think I would. No. With everything thrown our way, kung mahina ako, baka. But I am surprised with how strong I am,” she said. “At this point, makakapitan mo is everything is God’s will. Siguro sa age ko na din—ipagpapasa Diyos mo na talaga.”
According to Mariel, her faith has helped her stay grounded amid the political noise surrounding her husband’s public life.
She also revealed that Robin himself taught her not to dwell on negative comments and criticisms.
“Robin is really great. Sobra. Before, he would tell me wag ko bigyan ng oras. Sa kanya ko natutunan,” she explained.
Despite Robin’s high-profile role in politics, Mariel shared that they rarely discuss his work as a senator at home. Instead, their conversations are mostly centered on their children and family life.
“It is always about our children. Ang dami niya na nakausap tungkol doon. So minsan na lang. My question is always— ‘Are you okay?’ If he tells me he is okay, we are all good. Okay na.”
“Ganon lagi pag sinabi niya okay, hindi na ako kailang mag aalala kasi sinabi niya. Yun lang tanong ko, ‘is everything ok? I don’t have to worry?’— if okay, then normal tayong lahat,” she added.
Mariel emphasized that while politics may be filled with conflicts and controversies, their family life remains peaceful and stable.
“We do our normal everyday thing. Politika lang naman lahat ng magulo. Kami OK kami. Hindi kami magulo. Politika lang magulo,” she said.

The television personality also expressed her unwavering support for her husband, saying she continues to take care of their family while praying for his safety and well-being.
“I make sure we have a healthy meal, something home cooked. Yung gusto niya… Always naman we stand by his principles and courage. We pray for him and his safety,” she shared.
