Philippine mobility technology company CarBEV officially broke ground on THE Power Station by CarBEV, a new electric mobility facility being developed as the Philippines’ first fully electric power station, designed to cater to up to 500 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) daily. 
Strategically located in Merville, Pasay City, near Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), THE Power Station is envisioned as a high-capacity charging and mobility hub supporting the country’s transition toward electric public transportation.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together representatives from the local government, national government and private sector, including Atty. Peter D. Pardo, representing the Pasay City Local Government Unit; DTI-PPPI Chairman Winston “Winnie” Castelo; and Board of Investments (BOI) Representative Elvin Raymond Garcia.
The ceremony was also attended by the CarBEV leadership and Board of Directors, led by CEO Christian Bradley, together with COO Jomel Paradero, Board Directors Lhai Santiago and Lhea Paradero, and CFO Samir Patel.
Their participation highlights the growing collaboration between government and the private sector in building the infrastructure needed to accelerate the Philippines’ transition to electric mobility.
A Major Private-Sector Response to the President’s EV Agenda
The groundbreaking comes shortly after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. highlighted the continued push for electric vehicle adoption and cleaner transportation during his 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA).
For CarBEV, THE Power Station represents the company’s move to translate the country’s EV policy direction into actual infrastructure on the ground.
“The direction from the government is clear. The Philippines is moving toward electric mobility, and now the private sector has to build the infrastructure to support that transition,” said Christian Bradley, CEO of CarBEV.
“THE Power Station is our response. We are not just putting EVs on the road—we are building the infrastructure that will keep them moving.” 
Designed to Power 500 Battery Electric Vehicles Daily
THE Power Station is designed to cater to up to 500 battery electric vehicles every day, particularly high utilization commercial vehicles such as electric taxis, TNVs and fleet-operated EVs.
Its strategic location near NAIA is expected to make the facility particularly relevant to airport-related transportation and commercial fleets operating throughout Metro Manila.
CarBEV envisions THE Power Station as a high-capacity EV mobility hub, where commercial electric vehicles can recharge efficiently and return to service.
The facility is targeted to become a critical piece of infrastructure supporting the growing deployment of electric public transportation in the National Capital Region.
From a Gas Station to an Electric Power Station
The project carries additional significance through the transformation of the former Total Merville Gas Station into an electric mobility facility.
“We are literally transforming a traditional fuel station into a power station for electric mobility,” Bradley said. “For us, that represents the transition we want to see across Philippine transportation—from fossil fuels toward a cleaner, more sustainable and commercially viable mobility ecosystem.”
The transformation reflects CarBEV’s vision of repurposing existing transportation infrastructure to support the country’s transition to electric mobility.
CarBEV Leadership Driving the EV Transition
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the CarBEV leadership and Board of Directors, led by CEO Christian Bradley, together with COO Jomel Paradero, Board Directors Lhai Santiago and Lhea Paradero, and CFO Samir Patel.
The leadership team is focused on building an integrated EV mobility ecosystem combining electric vehicle fleets, charging infrastructure, technology, financing and transport operations.

Building the Infrastructure Behind Public Transportation Electrification
CarBEV believes that large-scale electrification cannot happen through vehicle deployment alone.
As more taxis, TNVs and commercial vehicles transition to battery electric power, reliable and strategically located charging infrastructure will become increasingly critical.
With a planned capacity of up to 500 BEVs daily, THE Power Station is designed to become an important part of the charging backbone supporting electric transportation in Metro Manila.
“This is only the beginning,” Bradley said. “Our goal is to make the transition to electric transportation commercially viable and scalable for Filipino transport operators. We want to build an ecosystem where operators can confidently go electric because the infrastructure is there to support them.”
