Kapuso actress and comedian Chariz Solomon revealed that she has finally received half of the talent fee owed to her for her stint as a host of the now-defunct noontime show ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya.’
During her appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ Chariz happily shared the update, calling it an exclusive announcement.
“I’m happy to announce… first and exclusive here!” she quipped when asked by Boy Abunda about the long-standing issue.
She then confirmed that the hosts had already received 50% of their unpaid compensation.
“Tito Boy, masayang-masaya po akong i-share na naibigay na nila yung 50 percent sa aming mga host. I believed sa iba rin sa staff at production. I think nauna pa yata sila,” Chariz said.
The actress clarified that she and her fellow hosts were not angry over the delayed payment, but admitted that the situation had an impact on them because they had turned down other opportunities to prioritize the show.
“In the two months na hindi namin nakuha, of course, may mga trabaho kaming kailangan naming tanggihan. Of course, that affected us, we didn’t get paid for two months,” she explained.
Chariz also opened up about continuing to receive criticism from some netizens for accepting a job on ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ which aired on GMA Network in 2024 as the replacement for ‘Eat Bulaga.’
“It’s sad kasi… guys, kahit hindi namin ‘yon tanggapin may ibang tatanggap nu’n, may ibang gagawa nu’n. The show will go on. It must,” she said.
“So tinanggap namin kasi kailangan namin ng work,” she emphasized.
Despite the controversy surrounding the program, Chariz said her experience on the noontime show was ultimately meaningful.
“Who doesn’t like noontime shows? It was a truly happy experience. We learned a lot. Ibang klase yung pagod, ibang klase rin yung saya… mga taong nakikilala mo,” she added.
‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ produced by Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc., premiered in 2024 following the end of ‘Eat Bulaga’ on GMA Network. The show concluded its run on March 7, 2024.
