Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez are set to appear together again on screen in a still-untitled TV series in GMA Network.
The real-life couple first worked together on a once hit TV series “My Husband’s Lover” and it was on the same set where they fell in love together. Tom admitted that they became close since they have ample time to talk while on set.
Tom shared that he is happy to get the chance to know Carla off-cam. He said during an interview in 2014, “If ever there is something like that, I think the best approach, lalo na with this kind of schedule, is to let it unfold on its own and I am very happy with the way everything is unfolding.”
Tom Rodriguez was a former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate and in a relationship with singer Kaye Rivera and broke after a year-long romance. Carla Abellana at the time was romantically involved with the actor Geoff Eigenmann.
The couple had a project last year – a romantic-comedy series titled “I Heart Davao” – also on GMA Network. That was Carla Abellana’s last TV series.
On Tom’s end, this upcoming project may take a toll on his schedule since the actor has an on-going hit series with Jennylyn Mercado “The Cure” that is slowly making its way to the top. “The Cure” is now pronounced as one of the most buzzed TV series in Philippine television.
Regarding marriage, the couple said that they’ve already discussed settling down, but it may take some time for the wedding bells to ring.
“There’s no question when it comes to the person I eventually want to settle down with. In fact, I’d propose marriage to her now if I won the lotto,” Tom said jokingly. “We don’t take it lightly, especially because of our personal experiences,” he added referring to Carla’s parents who broke up when she was young.
