Tawag ng Tanghalan semi-finalist Anton Paolo Antenorcruz received mixed reactions from netizens when photos and videos of his past marriage with Filipino-Australian John Carasig went viral.
He got married with John in 2012 when the singer was just 19 years old. However, they broke up in 2013.
Impulsive decision
According to Anton, he made a wrong decision and was impulsive. He was young and didn’t think about the consequences. He didn’t think about the importance of a huge decision.
“Mali ‘yung desisyon ko noon. Mali ‘yung desisyon ko… Ngayon ‘di ko na siya uulitin… May mga bagay ako na nagawa dati na parang naging impulsive ako. Na dahil bata pa siguro ako or may mga bagay na hindi ko napag-isipan… Kumbaga, ‘yung mga life-changing decisions before… hindi ko pa naiisip ‘yung importance nung mga ganun kalaking desisyon.”
The old wedding video went viral in the middle of the intensity of the Tawag ng Tanghalan competition in It’s Showtime. Anton was bothered at the time when it went viral. He also added that he doesn’t look through comments.
“Bothered ako nung time na ‘yun. Kasi nga naiisip ko pa ‘yung… Ang tagal ko nang binaon ‘yun sa limot. Tapos biglang lumabas pa. Nung time na ‘yun, ‘di talaga ako nagbabasa ng comments. As in wala. Hindi ako nagse-cellphone, hindi ako nagpe-Facebook.”
Moving on and ignoring the bashers
However, Anton realized that he was being unfair on the people who were supporting him. He also learned to ignore the bashers.
“Wala akong binabasang comments at all. Pero na-realize ko na unfair naman dun sa mga sumusuporta sa akin na nagco-comment. Hanggang eventually, natutunan ko na lang na wag na lang pansinin ‘yung mga bashers.”
Anton pointed out that it was in the past. His goal is to move forward. He also continued that he would not pay attention to any negative vibes.

“Past na po… Lumipas na, eh… Eto na ako ngayon… Masaya na ako sa kung anong nangyari sa buhay ko. Ang goal ko ngayon is to move forward… For them, siguro parang hindi masamang experience. For me, it is. ‘Yun lang ako, deretso lang ‘yung tingin palayo sa mga negative vibes.”
