As the search for the new Darna continues, several ABS-CBN artist names are already being given by netizens, hoping that one of them would be able to portray the said role.
Known for her undeniable great acting skills, there is no doubt that Kapamilya network star Maja Salvador is included among the names mentioned as the next Darna.
However, Maja seemed not interested in taking the superheroine role as she claims that the Queen of Action Angel Locsin still fits to be Darna.
In an interview with the ABS-CBN News, Maja chose to keep silent regarding her inclusion in being the iconic Darna as she does not want to offend Liza Soberano, who previously held the title.
“Ayokong magsalita nang tapos.”
“Pero ayoko lang mag-tweet about it kasi… [Out of] respect for Liza, because it’s for Liza.”
She also compared the likes of her to Liza, stating that though she is happy about the idea of being Darna, it deserves to be with someone that is in the likes of the previous stars who were given the role.
“From Liza, ako?”
Again, Maja insisted that Angel Locsin should take the role for she is Darna, it has been her signature image ever since.
“Sana si Angel Locsin, because Darna is Angel Locsin, Angel Locsin is Darna,” she said. “Ang hirap tanggalin ni Angel Locsin kay Darna. ‘Pag sinabi mong Darna, nakatatak talaga sa kanya, e. Perfect, e. Katawan, Pinay beauty, skills, lahat. Sana.”
Some other ABS-CBN artists that are being considered to portraying Darna are teen star Kathryn Bernardo, the singer Nadine Lustre, the rising star Jessy Mendiola, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
