Kapamilya actress Maymay Entrata has confirmed that she auditioned to be part of the New York Fashion Week. Maymay revealed this during a media huddle after the press con of Knowledge Channel’s Puno Ng Buhay.
“Nag-audition po ako sa New York Fashion Week,” she said.
But she added that there’s no final decision yet whether she got the gig or not.
“Hindi po biro kasi ‘yun, so hindi ko pa po talaga alam kung sakaling matutuloy po ‘yun,” she added.
If it happens, it will not be the first time that Maymay will walk the runway at an international event.
In November last year, Maymay was also invited to walk the runway of Arab Fashion Week for Dubai-based Filipino designer Furne One.

If all goes well for NYFW, Maymay will also walk for the same designer Furne One.
“Iyong designer pa rin po si Ms. Furne One, parang online po. Bale pinost lang po ‘yung audition ko. Live po ‘yun, hindi lang si Ms. Furne One [ang nandoon] kundi ‘yung mga… Sino nga ba ‘yun? Iyong mga nasa New York Fashion Week, mga malalaking tao doon.
“Kung tanggap ako, e di tanggap. Pero alamin po natin.”
Meanwhile, at the same presscon, Maymay was introduced as an “international star”.
The Kapamilya star couldn’t help but felt shy and awkward about her latest moniker. The press, on the other hand, commended Maymay’s reaction which showed her humility, the same characteristic that endeared her to people during and after her stint in the Pinoy Big Brother house.
Maymay started her career in 2016 when she was chosen as one of the housemates of Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 Teen edition where she won as the Big Winner.
Since then, Maymay has been on different Kapamilya shows, usually with love team partner Edward Barbers, aka MayWard. She also recorded her self-titled music album for Star Music which has already reached Gold record status.
Her latest project on TV was Hiwaga ng Kambat with Edward. She was also part of the recent phenomenal movie Hello Love Goodbye with Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo.
