At the press conference for I Can See You: The Promise, actor Paolo Contis defended celebrities and artists who ventured into vlogging during the pandemic.

Paolo highlighted how the pandemic impacted everyone and have placed artists in survival mode.

“Ako sakin when the pandemic happened, di natin alam ang mangyayari. So lahat nasa survival mode tayo,” said Paolo.

He also noted that everyone needed a source of income and actors have the right like other netizens to use online platforms to make it happen.

“Let’s face it, isa sa mga way na kumita was vlogging. So I think thats our right to make it happen, Kasi kailangan nakikita nila kami. Syempre di ba habang inaalagaan mo yung pandemic, inaalagaan mo din yung career mo. Inaalagaan mo rin na makita ka ng tao na okay ka kasi wala ka naman show,” said Paolo.

Paolo also said that reacted to those who were chiding artists for vlogging and that he noted doesn’t want to trump existing vloggers in creating content.

“So yung mga natatawa, edi matawa kayo. Ang point ko kailangan namin. Its true for me, its not like choice namin sya. Pero for us, ako kasi ako nag-vlog din ako I think lahat tayo. Pero I think nasa magandang ano naman yung gusto naming mangyari. Hindi naman namin gustong magkasapawan,” Paolo reacted.

Paolo currently has 285K subscribers on his YouTube channel. Paolo’s most viewed vlog is his reaction video for his movie Through Night and Day with 1.7M views.

The one-week mini-series I Can See You: The Promise will begin airing on October 5. It stars Paolo Contis, Yasmien Kurdi, Benjamin Alves, and Andrea Torres.
