Well-known TikToker Macoy Dubs, also known as Auntie Julie, is now a host of Lunch Out Loud on TV5 produced by Brightlight Productions and Cornerstone Studios.
In a Zoom conference with other bloggers, Macoy Dubs was asked about his reaction when Banat By, Mocha Uson’s manager, said that he doesn’t find Macoy Dubs funny and tagged him as ‘corny.’
For Macoy Dubs, he chooses to ignore the said criticism, and said that Banat By has always been iike that.
“Actually, ayaw ko pong panoorin ‘yung video kasi to be modest po ang honest ganu’n naman po ‘yung mga banat kaya nga po banat by ang pangalan niya kasi po babanatan ka niya online.
“I don’t know him personally, we didn’t work with each other and I don’t have any bad remarks kay Banat By kasi hindi ko rin naman siya kilala, but kung hindi siya natatawa sa mga jokes ko, feeling ko he has the right to say that.”
Macoy Dubs believes that everyone has their own taste and preference.
“May kanya-kanya naman tayong taste and preference sa comedy and humor. I respect his statement din, okay lang naman sa akin kasi kanya-kanyang preference rin,” reaksyon pa niya.
He just believes you can’t please everybody.
“Madami-dami rin naman akong nakikita na ever since na mas dumami ‘yung reach natin online and I realize rin naman na you cannot really please everybody.”
Furthermore, instead of being offended by criticisms, he’s using it to improve his line of work, especially that his main goal is not just bringing laughter but also creating a big influence.
“I also have other content creators na mga kaibigan kong tunay na nagsasabi na, ‘minsan corny ‘yung ganitong content or minsan trying hard ka dito.’ I take it very professionally, kaibigan ko sila so that’s the way to improve as content creator.”
