Maalaala Mo Kaya Director Jerome Pobocan recalled his most memorable MMK episodes.
In a media conference for the MMK episodes headlining this June, Pobocan considered his directorial debut with the anthology series as a baptismal of fire. He also highlighted his directorial debut with MMK alongside Jodi Sta. Maria.
“Ang paborito ko sa mga nagawa ko, syempre yung unang una kong MMK because ang mga directors sa ABS, ang baptismal of fire, ay MMK.
“My very first directorial was with MMK, so that was memorable for me. That was Rositas, it was with Hilda Coronel. It was the launch of Jodi Sta. Maria, and Cherry Pie Picache.”
Pobocan also recounted his MMK Episode with Judy Ann Santos and how it became an entry in Shanghai TV Festival.
“Also, yung kay Judy Ann Santos in 2007 or 2008, and Tita Caring, Basket, was the official entry of MMK to the Shanghai TV Festival.”
Pobocan then relates his episode with Maris Racal and Cris Villanueva, Finding Papa, to his cathartic experience when his dad passed away.
“Pero, right now, itong episode na ginawa namin sa MMK; it was one of my favorites because medyo cathartic to nung ginagawa ko. My dad recently passed away medyo close to my heart because it’s Father’s day special.
“Gustong-gusto ko yung relationship nung character dun sa kanyang father, kung pano hindi sinukuan ni Mariz yung pagmamahal nya doon sa tatay nya na pinoportray naman ni, Cris.”
