Leo Martinez appealed to allow senior citizens to go out since they are already vaccinated

The senior citizens are are the most vulnerable targets of COVID-19. Due to this, they are part of the A2 priority group for vaccination. Seasoned actor and comedian Leo Martinez, a senior citizen, shares the same sentiment after being vaccinated.

In Manila, the vaccination for the A2 priority group started as early as March this year. Since then, many senior citizens are already fully vaccinated.

They now appeal to ease the restrictions with their mobility. On Instagram, Kim Atienza posted the video of Martinez, appealed for the government’s consideration.

Martinez agreed with his fellow senior citizen, Atty. Romy Macalintal, who first petitioned to allow the mobility of senior citizens who are already vaccinated.

The actor expressed his eagerness to go out and be free again after more than a year of staying at home.

Martinez said that he wants to experience again the feels of being outside.

It seemed that their appeal got heard by the Government– recently, the Inter-Agency Task Force allowed fully-vaccines seniors to go out but, they need to bring with them their vaccination cards.

The eased in restriction applies to areas under general community quarantine and modified GCQ classification.

Though their movement is allowed, interzonal travel is still prohibited, except for point-to-point travel.

As of June, the country already rolled out about 6 million doses of vaccines for the priority groups A1 to A4. Around 600k of the population is fully vaccinated. It is still far from its target of 70 million to achieve herd immunity.
