Magandang Buhay host Melai Cantiveros revealed something about Erich Gonzales’s traits.
In an episode of the said morning talk show, where Gonzales had a guest appearance, Cantiveros shared that the actress is a very generous friend.
“Ay, sobra ang experience ko diyan (kay Erich). Lahat ng mga gamit niya, ‘Mels, sa iyo na ito.’ Yung parang ‘ang ganda naman niyan.’ ‘Sa iyo na ‘yan.’ ‘Ano ka ba Ers, nagandahan lang ako.’ ‘Mels, dito ka sa dressing room ko.’
“Naalala mo ba Ers dati na parang nag-offer-offer ka pa sa akin, may mga offer ka sa akin na bahay. Sabi niya, ‘Sige na ako bahala, ano ba kailangan mo?’
“‘Ers, alam mo magkaibigan tayo pero hindi ako ganyan, ayaw kong gamitin ba na gan’on ba.’ Ito talaga (si Erich) grabe ka-generous.”
The TV host-comedienne also said that having Gonzales as a friend will give one contentment since the actress will stick to her friend, no matter what.
“Sobra ka talaga na magiging kontento ka sa kanya pa lang. At si Erich kasi kapag siya ang mag-choose ng friend niya talagang hindi ka na niya titigilan. Talagang susundan at susundan ka na niyan,” Cantiveros said.
On the other hand, Gonzales explained that her generous attitude toward her friends is just her way of showing her love and trust.
She said that having true friends is a rare thing. That the reason why she values her friends so much.
“Kumbaga quality talaga over quantity. Alam natin mahirap talaga magtiwala hindi ba? Pero for me once na naibigay ko ‘yung tiwala, gagawin ko talaga lahat to keep that friendship, alagaan ‘yon.
“Kasi rare rin naman ‘yung mga tao na nakagaanan mo ng loob na alam mong you can trust also,” she said.
Cantiveros and Gonzales previously worked together in the film, I Do (2010) and in the Kapamilya series, Two Wives (2014).
Their close bond is due to how both can speak in Cebuano or Bisaya.
Cantiveros is from General Santos City, while Gonzales is from Cebu City, where Cebuano is the main spoken language.
Melai Cantiveros came to prominence in 2009, after she became the grand champion of Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up, and paved her way to the entertainment industry.
Along with her fellow Magandang Buhay hosts Jolina Magdangal and Karla Estrada, she starred in a Star Cinema comedy movie, Momshies! Ang Soul Mo’y Akin.
