Kapuso, Kapamilya: Big Winners in Asian Academy Creative Awards

On December 2 and 3, Kapuso’s 24 Oras and Kapamilya’s comedian-host Vice Ganda won the Asian Academy Creative Awards.

For Asian Academy Creative Awards Grand Awards night on December 2, 24 Oras won the Best News Program award for their special Coverage of Typhoon Vamco (Ulysses) in Luzon. As for Asian Academy Creative Awards Gala Awards night on December 3, Vice Ganda won Best Lifestyle, Entertainment Presenter/Host for Everybody, Sing!

Aside from the Pinoy winners, the Asian Academy Creative Awards also had Filipino award presenters who attended the event, such as Dimples Romana, Vice Ganda, Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano, Randy Santiago, and Arjo Atayde.

BGYO also performed their single He’s Into Her during the Gala Awards Night.

In September 2021, the Asian Academy Creative Awards also released the list of National Winners for 2021.

  • JM De Guzman won Best Actor in a Leading role for Kapamilya Network’s When Love Burns (Init sa Magdamag).
  • Nonie Buencamino won Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Kapamilya Network’s Huwag Kang Mangamba.
  • Maja Salvador won Best Actress in a Leading Role for TV5’s Niña Niño.
  • Sylvia Sanchez won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Kapamilya Network’s Huwag Kang Mangamba.
  • TV5’s The Wall Philippines won the Best Adaptation of an Existing Format for their episode of Priests for A Cause.
  • Barangay 143‘s second season received an award for Best Animated Programme or Series.
  • Peel And Win in Coke Studio Promo also won the Best Branded Programme or Series.
  • Depart of Education’s DepEd TV Filipino Grade 2 won the Best Children’s Program.
  • WeTV’s Boyfriend No. 13 won the Best Comedy Programme.
  • GMA Network’s Reporter’s Notebook won the Best Current Affairs Programme or Series.
  • Chad Vidanes won Best Direction (Fiction) for the Kapamilya series He’s Into Her.
  • The Kapamilya Network also won Best Documentary Series for Fedelina: A Stolen Life.
  • TV5’s Niña Niño won the Best Drama Series award.
  • The Lost Recipe editors John Wesley Lagdameo, Alvin John Memije, and Thea Rivera Daguman won Best Editing.
  • GMA Network’s All-Out Sundays won Best General Entertainment, Game, Or Quiz Programme.
  • GMA Network’s Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho won the Best Infotainment Programme Award for their Baby Switching episode.
  • Vice Ganda also won the National Awards for Best Lifestyle, Entertainment Presenter/Host for Everybody, Sing!
  • Everybody Sing! also won Best Music or Dance Programme.
  • Karen Davila also won the Best News or Current Affairs Presenter/Anchor award.
  • 24 Oras also won the Best News Program award for their special Coverage of Typhoon Vamco (Ulysses) in Luzon under the National Awards.
  • TV5’s Sing Galing won the Best Non-Scripted Entertainment Awards.
  • The Kapamilya Networks He’s Into Her won Best Original Programme By A Streamer/OTT.
  • Michelle Ngu of Boyfriend No. 13 won the Best Original Screenplay.
  • DepEd’s TV Kindergarten won the Best School Programme.
  • TV5’s Iba sa 5 won Best Promo or Trailer Award.
  • Jollibee’s Kwentong Jollibee Valentine Series 2021: First Date won the Best Short Form Content.
  • Maalaala Mo Kaya won the Best Single Drama/Telemovie/Anthology Series Award.
  • GMA Network’s 24 Oras also won Best Single News Story/ for Typhoon Vamco Marikina Rescue coverage.
  • BGYO, Jonathan Manalo, Gabriel Tagadtad, and Theo Marte won Best Theme Song for He’s Into Her.
  • The Lost Recipe won the Best Visual or Special FX in TV Series or Feature Film.

The Philippines have won the Asian Academy Creative Awards since it started in 2018. It listed MMK: Toy Car–Best Single Drama or Telemovie in the 2018 AACA.

In 2019, ANC Market Edge former anchor Cathy Yang won the Best News or Current Affairs Presenter/Anchor. While In 2020, Kapamilya actor Arjo Atayde won the Best Actor in a Leading Role in the Asian Academy Creative Awards.
