On March 23, ABS-CBN Head of TV Production and Star Magic Head Director Laurenti Dyogi got emotional during his speech at the Showtime Kapamilya Contract Signing event.
Dyogi initially tried to diffuse his emotions while giving his speech. He then cited how the network was renewing it’s commitment to JC de Vera, Vhong Navarro, and Ogie Alcasid.
“I know it’s a very important day for all of us. We are renewing our commitment with you, JC, Vhong, and Ogie.
“Sa totoo lang what’s more important was the last two years. And I think JC was able to capture that already, eh.”
He recalled difficulties and uncertainties they faced for the past two years after the ABS-CBN shutdown in 2020.
“‘Yung kasing two years na dinaanan namin ay hindi biro. Ang importante kasi, those were two years of difficult times, na walang pirmahan. There’s was a lot of uncertainty, pero you were here. You were here with us.”
He then got emotional while recounting those talents who remained with the network.
“And as my boss would like to say–‘yung mga taong kasama namin sa hirap, ngayong paahon tayo, we’ll be together. And we’re committed to be with you, and to support you, because you did a good job in serving the public and being with us. So maraming-maraming salamat sa inyo.”
In January 2021, Dyogi recalled the painful experience he had heading Star Magic talents amid the pandemic and ABS-CBN shutdown.
Then in the recently concluded Kapamilya Strong Contract signing event, he revealed that the network would be prioritizing talents who remained with the network.
The most recent additions to their talents who got their contracts renewed are It’s Showtime hosts Vhong Navarro and Ogie Alcasid and their guest judge JC de Vera.
