We have been hearing about Oppo’s different offerings, the A and F series.

The A-series focuses on affordable and decent specs for a smartphone while F is for their Flagship. Oppo is yet again offering an affordable and nice camera device featuring the Oppo A76.

It is a 6.56-inch screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, equipped with a snapdragon 680 4G, and has 5000mah battery plus a 33W fast charger called SuperVooc.

UNBOXING.

The color of the packaging is in sky-blue printed with a big letter A on the front and specification at the bottom. Opening the box, you will get the free jelly case with decent quality and protection, documentation and warranty papers, the OPPO A76 with pre-applied screen protector, 33W SuperVooc power brick, USB type C cable, and the pin ejector.

DESIGN.

Oppo A76 features a 6.56-inch LCD that has 90Hz screen refresh rate supported in a 3D Slim Body. It has a simple design and a matte finish in the back that sparkles and glows when you move it around. It is eye-catching and beautiful.

The color of the unit we have is blue but Oppo labeled it as “Glowing Blue” the device is also available in “Glowing Black.”

The back doesn’t attract fingerprint smudges easily but it is slippery. It is thin and lightweight. The device is comfortable to hold and grip.

At the back, there is the dual-camera module. Flipping it, the screen has a 6.56inch IPS display with slim bezels around but a thicker chin. There is a punch-hole 8MP camera located on the upper left.

On the left side are the volume buttons, the card tray for sim cards, and the microSD slot.

While on the right side is the power button that has a fingerprint module equipped with it. Buttons are firm and clicky plus easy to reach.

At the bottom, there are the 3.5 mm headphone jack, microphone hole, USB C port, and the speaker grille while up top is the secondary microphone hole for the noise canceling.

DISPLAY.

The Oppo A76 has a 6.56-inch IPS LCD with a 90HZ refresh rate that can be switched to 60hz in the settings. There is a 180HZ touch sampling rate to handle responsiveness while playing games. The display is viewable indoors and outdoors. The colors are vibrant with good viewing angles. It has a vivid and gentle mode available and can be tweaked on the settings.

The audio quality is decent since it has a single speaker on the bottom, and the sound profile works as it should. The device has an audio jack available for a better sound experience.

CAMERA.

The phone features only a dual rear camera setup with 13MP main and 2MP for macro. For selfies, there is 8MP available on the front. The camera provides the user with rich imaging features like AI Natural retouching, 360-degree fill light for brighter portraits, and HDR lets you preserve more details in a backlight scenario.

The camera quality for the rear comes out good, details are present but have less dynamic range and color reproduction. For portrait, edge detection needs to be improved, the background blur is recommendable.

No ultrawide and macro modes available but the camera can be digitally zoomed from 2x up to 6x.

Night shots come out a bit mediocre, details are okay but noise is present.

Selfies, with good lighting, appear to be excellent with great details and colors. There is a beauty mode available to enhance your look.

Videos can shoot up to 1080p, the quality is average but it lacks stabilization.

SOFTWARE.

The OPPO A76 is running on Color OS 11.1 skin that is based on Android 11. Color OS has a lot of customization options such as modifying icon styles, font, and many more. It comes with bloatware and pre-installed apps but can be removed.

There are some notable features like System booster, Link boost 2.0, and Flexdrop.

There is virtual memory RAM expansion available. This ultra-smart system terminate unnecessary background process to minimize the running load and use apps are compressed to free up internal storage., for security and privacy, it can be unlocked using both facial and side-mounted fingerprint scanner in the power button.

PERFORMANCE.

The OPPO A76 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Daily usage is pretty decent. It can handle most of the basic tasks like streaming, web browsing, social media, and messaging.

Gaming, the phone can run Asphalt 9, Mobile Legends, and Call of Duty mobile on the lowest graphic settings. Some stutters occur while playing, especially in graphic intensive scenes.

For connectivity, it has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, and 4G LTE, sadly the device has no 5G bandwidth.

BATTERY.

The phone packs a 5000mah battery capacity, it can last at least a day for moderate usage and typically it can last an average workday.

You can get the advantage of Oppo’s rapid superVOOC 33W charger, so you can fast charge the phone when you need it the most. charging the device can take more than an hour to charge from 0 to 100 percent.

The Oppo comes with the feature Super Nighttime standby that reduces power consumption based on user habits. Super Power saving mode brings long power for your daily task and Optimized Night charging where it adapts to user sleep patterns and schedules segment battery charging during night time.

CONCLUSION.

Oppo should be admired for offering different phones in the budget segment. If you are the person that doesn’t require the use of a 5G and triple camera lens but is looking for a budget-friendly phone then Oppo A76 can give you decent performance with a stylish design and fast charging capability.

The phone is priced at 11,999 and it is available in all Oppo stores online and offline.
