Following the news about the suspension of his primetime variety show ‘Wowowin’ on ALLTV, host-comedian Willie Revillame is rumored to be sending feelers to make a Kapuso comeback.
In an episode of Cristy Fermin’s YouTube show, ‘Showbiz Now Na’, on February 16, 2023, Fermin, together with her co-hosts Rommel Chika and Wendell Alvarez, talked about Revillame’s possible return to GMA Network.
According to Wendell Alvarez, Revillame has apparently sent feelers to GMA Network to make a comeback following recent developments with his current network, ALLTV.
Recent online reports said that ALLTV management had decided to suspend the airing of its station-produced programs due to poor ratings and a lack of advertisement.
In February 2022, Revillame decided not to renew his contract with GMA Network and transferred to Villar’s ALLTV.
His transfer, however, was met with a cold reception from viewers as the show fell down the drain in terms of TV ratings.
While he enjoyed high ratings during Wowowin’s stint with GMA Network, even beating ‘Eat Bulaga!, ‘Wowowin’ on ALLTV was nowhere to be found on the rating board. This is because it only managed to get a maximum of 0.2 percent ratings.
Meanwhile, Fermin said that if the rumors about the feelers are true, Revillame will still find it challenging to move back to the Kapuso network given the circumstances.
Fermin pointed out, “Ang ganda ganda ng kalagayan mo dito, pipirma ka lang ng another year eh hindi mo nga yun ginawa eh kasi mas binigyan mo ng pagpapahalaga yung bagong offer na tinangagap mo. Palagay ko hindi na.”
