Donita Nose recently discussed the status of her friendship with fellow comedian Super Tekla.
During an interview on ‘Sarap, ‘Di Ba?’ hosted by Carmina Villarroel on September 9, Donita addressed rumors that their friendship had turned strictly professional.
Donita responded to the question with a light-hearted laugh but proceeded to provide an honest response. She acknowledged, “Honest ako. Dumating sa point.”
She went on to explain that their followers had observed a period of discord between her and Tekla. “Kinausap ko ‘yun actually, nasa vlog namin ‘yun. ‘Yung umiyak na talaga ako. Sobrang wala, desperado na ako na parang hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko sa kanya.”
“Sumuko talaga ako that point. Siguro mga ano rin, nine months kaming ‘di nag-usap,” Donita added.
Donita clarified that they have since reconciled and are on good terms. “Okay naman na kami. Siya kasi medyo ‘yung utak talaga noon minsan ganoon e. Minsan nawawala, nagaganito, nagaganyan.”
According to Donita, she genuinely wanted to help her friend. “Ako ‘pag gusto ko siyang ayusin, to the point na kaya ko naman at kaya kong tumulong, kaya ko siya pagsabihan, ginagawa ko naman. Pero kung ‘yung tao kasi hindi na talaga kaya ‘yung mga sinasabi ko talagang bibitaw ka.”
Donita mentioned that Tekla reached out to reconcile with her, and they are now working together on various shows. “Okay kami. Siya naman nag-reach out. Sabi niya ”Te halika na mag-vlog na tayo ulit. Kakatapos lang ng tour namin, ‘yung Canada. May upcoming shows pa kami na magkasama.”
Donita also admitted that she initially suggested they maintain a strictly professional relationship for their work as comedians. However, she believed that they needed to maintain a positive friendship to perform their roles effectively.
“Minsan nga sinasabi ko sa kanya na maging professional na lang tayo, parang ganoon trabaho lang tayo. Pero hindi pa rin e. Hindi mo pa rin talaga magagawa nang tama ‘yung trabaho ninyong dalawa kung mayroong namamagitan sa inyo na parang trabaho lang ‘to.
“Mas maganda ‘yung parang magkaibigan tayo, gawin natin ito,” Donita concluded.
