During the cast reveal and trailer launch of ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme,’ submitted for the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival by Regal Entertainment, award-winning actress Iza Calzado revealed a near-decision to leave the entertainment industry behind due to a past relationship.
Responding to questions about extreme experiences in her personal life, particularly in the realms of love and career, Iza shared a surprising revelation.
“Ang daming extreme sa buhay ko. Pagdating sa love, muntik kong iwan ang career na ito dati. Extreme ‘yun,” she said.
She also acknowledged another significant career move she made, which was her transition from GMA Network to ABS-CBN.
She explained, “Sa career, the extreme thing I did to shake up my career from growth was to move from one network to another.”
In response to inquiries about extreme moments in her life, Iza playfully added, “Sa life, ang dami kong naiisip pero extremely shocking, na hindi puwedeng i-share. Just leave it at that for the imagination.”
Iza expressed her gratitude for being part of ‘Shake Rattle & Roll Extreme’ and extended her appreciation to Regal Entertainment executive Roselle Monteverde. She emphasized the importance of Filipino audiences returning to cinemas to watch films, expressing hope that a successful movie would signify the revival of the Philippine cinema industry.
She also highlighted her passion for advocating improved working conditions in the entertainment sector, emphasizing the need for better working hours and practices to professionalize the industry. Iza encouraged fellow actors to actively participate in discussions between producers and industry stakeholders to promote better practices.

During the event, the official trailer for ‘Shake Rattle & Roll Extreme,’ directed by Jerrold Tarog, Joey de Guzman, and Richard Somes, was unveiled. The film features a star-studded cast, including Jane de Leon, Jane Oiñeza, Paolo Gumabao, Paul Salas, RK Bagatsing, AC Bonifacio, Donna Cariaga, among others.
Iza Calzado expressed her hope that ‘Shake Rattle & Roll Extreme’ would be selected as one of the official entries for MMFF 2023, as it is anticipated to become a top-grossing film in the annual film festival.
