Award-winning director McArthur C. Alejandre strikes again! After being hailed as Best Director at the Wallachia International Film Festival last September in Romania, he’s back with another Vivamax movie, “Sila ay Akin”.

The story revolves around two strong women, their family and the choices they make following the circumstance that brings them all together. It stars Angeli Khang as Josie, Azi Acosta as Maritess, Vince Rillon as Pau, and Victor Relosa as JC.

JC goes back to Manila to escape from a messy situation in Baguio where he’s been working as a jeepney barker. Tagging along is Maritess, his live-in partner. Luckily, they both get a warm welcome from Nanay Celing (Angie Castrence) in her tiny house which is already occupied by three other people: JC’s elder brother Pau, his live-in partner Josie, and Queenie (Cess Garcia), a deaf and mute teenager whom Nanay Celing adopted when she found her homeless four years ago.

It’s a full house, but their hearts are full. Everyone gets along and contributes to the household. Pau is able to convince JC to work as a dancer in a gay bar, just like him. Nanay Celing has her own pushcart carinderia. Queenie and Josie are there to assist Nanay Celing.

But no matter how solid a unit is, there’s always something or someone that will try to shake it. For JC and Maritess, it’s Lisa (Andrea Garcia), JC’s regular customer at the bar who uses her money to claim his body. For Pau and Josie, it’s Allan (Gerald Madrid). Now settled in America, he lures Pau with the American dream. Meanwhile, despite Nanay Celing’s protection, triggers to Queenie’s unhealed trauma are still out there.

“Sila ay Akin” will show how this family of six will deal with their problems. Available for streaming on October 27, 2023, find out if they will conquer their problems together or if they will crumble.
