After a couple of weeks in hibernation, AGB Nielsen NUTAM TV ratings is back.
In an unprecedented event, AGB Nielsen has been out and nowhere to be found for the past weeks, failing to give a glimpse of their survey numbers.
From March 14-26, 2017, AGB Nielsen failed to release their TV survey ratings result creating many speculations from netizens and TV viewing public.
But knowing AGB Nielsen will automatically get rating numbers from their panel homes every single day, was it their call not to release survey results or were they asked not to disclose it for a certain period?
This was the same speculation shared by some of the netizens who were surprised why AGB Nielsen suddenly dropped releasing rating numbers from March 14-26. What made the speculation more palpable is that, it was the period when ABS-CBN shows started to beat GMA Network programs.

Prior to AGB Nielsen’s recess, “It’s Showtime” slain “Eat Bulaga!” with a sizable margin of 7.4% during the grand finals of Tawag Ng Tanghalan. That was the first time in AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey that the Kapamilya noontime show posted such a big gap from the former daytime leader.
Aside from “It’s Showtime” beating “Eat Bulaga!”, “Encantadia” was also continuously beaten by it’s rival “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”. From February 27 up to the March 10 (when AGB last released their result), “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” conveniently held on to the top spot beating prime rival “Encantadia” with an average of 25.6% versus 24.7%.
Kapuso’s latest offering, AlDub’s “Destined To Be Yours” also failed to bring in wide viewership contrary to their phenomenal success in Kalyeserye.
The AlDub teleserye wasn’t able to fly high giving very small margin against Kapamilya’s “My Dear Heart”. There was also occasion where DTBY was beaten by MDH, 21.9% vs 20.7% on March 9, 2017 NUTAM result.
Additionally a leaked AGB Nielsen NUTAM numbers revealing low ratings of Kapuso shows also supported people’s doubt about the reason behind AGB Nielsen’s missing survey results.

But, while those instances maybe enough to prove the conspiracy theories regarding AGB Nielsen’s break from releasing its results, their comeback brought in more flavor to the speculations.
Just today, AGB Nielsen has already released their latest results for March 27-29, 2017 this time using NUTAM People’s ratings. What’s notable from the latest AGB Nielsen result is that Kapuso programs are now back on top beating Kapamilya counterparts.
“Encantadia” regained the primetime throne from “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” 12.7% to 12.5% on Monday March 27 and 13.4% to 13.3% on Tuesday March 28. “Wowowin” is also starting to get back on its feet after constantly succumbing to “Wildflower.”
With the exemption of long time daytime leaders “Ika-6 Na Utos,” Kapuso afternoon dramas are also again gaining traction led by “Legally Blind.”
So, basing from these circumstances, is it correct to speculate that AGB Nielsen was asked not to release the survey results for the missing dates? Did GMA Network asked AGB Nielsen to take a break from releasing survey data from March 14 – 26 because their programs are down to their competitors?
