Kris Aquino has officially confirmed her breakup with Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste, revealing that their relationship ended in February of this year.
The Queen of All Media opened up about the split and her new relationship in an exclusive face-to-face interview with Ogie Diaz at her Orange County, California, home, alongside her youngest son, Bimby.
“Yes, definitely, walang balikan na mangyayari,” Aquino declared, confirming that there is no possibility of reconciliation with Leviste. She explained that the rift began in November 2023 and despite attempts to mend things, certain revelations made her uncomfortable. “Pero may mga nalaman ako na hindi ko gusto. Pero ayoko nang magsabi pa ng more than that because part of the reason why it did not work out was I’m at the stage in my life na mas gusto ko nang tahimik,” she shared.
Aquino highlighted the importance of peace in her life, especially given her recent intensive medical treatments. She added, “The last post I had was way back in May and I’ve kept quiet because mas matindi ‘yung treatment na pinagdaanan ko recently. And ayokong ibalita sa mga tao na hirap ako, pagod ako.”
A key moment for Aquino was a comment from her son, Bimby, who remarked, “mama, I don’t think you really love him. I think you’re just sad.” This insight from Bimby made Aquino realize the truth about her feelings.
Aquino was also clear that there have been no attempts by Leviste to win her back, saying, “kung sumusubok man, sarado na ‘yung pinto.” She expressed her wish for both of them to move on peacefully: “I wish him the best and I’m sure he also wishes me well but I wanted to clarify lang kasi people might have the wrong impression.”
Despite the breakup, rumors persisted that Aquino and Leviste were still together. Aquino clarified that their communication is limited to polite exchanges. “So, sana, tumigil na. And huwag na lang siyang tanungin din kung kamusta ‘ko kasi hindi naman niya alam kung kamusta na ako talaga. Kasi, wala nang communication apart from ‘thank you, God bless,’” she said.
Aquino also revealed that she has a new relationship with a doctor based in Makati, Philippines. “It just flowed, nangyari. He’s a doctor and I think he’s part of the reason why it was easy. Kasi alam nya kung anon’g pinagdadaanan ko and he’s part of the reason why I’m confident na pwede akong umuwi. Kasi alam ko na there’s someone who will help in taking care of me.”
She emphasized that there was no overlap between her relationships with Leviste and her new boyfriend. “May malaking gap naman. Hindi sila nagkasabay. At hindi siya ang dahilan kung bakit. Walang overlap at hindi siya ‘yung dahilan kung bakit hindi kami naging okay,” she clarified.
