Tensions escalated on social media after screenshots surfaced showing an alleged online exchange between Sophia Delas Alas Bautista, daughter of Comedy Queen Aiai delas Alas, and content creator Chloe San Jose.
The exchange appears to stem from a recent private post by Chloe that some fans interpreted as a jab at Aiai, following her separation from husband Gerald Sibayan.
In the post, Chloe reportedly commented on the notion of “karma,” which many took as a subtle critique of Aiai’s personal situation.
Sophia, known for her bold stance when it comes to defending her mother, responded in the alleged screenshots, challenging Chloe: “Matapang ka? Public mo naman post mo regarding my mom.” Chloe replied by mentioning that she had messaged Sophia directly, writing, “Sophia Delas Alas Bautista messaged you love.”
According to the screenshots, Sophia then dared Chloe to meet her in Manila, saying, “Kita tayo sa Manila? Matapang ka eh.”
In response to the online reaction, Chloe clarified that her post was initially private and that the shared screenshots were beyond her control.
She explained, “Why didn’t I make the post public? Because I do not involve myself in other people’s private lives PUBLICLY (especially without understanding and knowing the full story) and contribute to you all’s clown and fake entertainment. It’s beyond my control that someone took a screenshot of what was intended as a “private” post… Now, let’s consider if I had posted it publicly. My caption was neither derogatory nor offensive in any way. So, why the outrage?”
Chloe also argued that genuine conversations should happen privately, stating, “Isn’t it actually more cowardly for people to discuss me publicly yet never address me directly in private, considering they have both the means and access to reach out directly. The true courage, “matapang” and meaningful discussions take place offline, not on the internet.”
As of now, neither Aiai nor Sophia have issued an official statement on the matter. However, the interaction has sparked widespread conversation among fans, with many eagerly awaiting further clarification from both parties.
