Knorr Sinigang Mix brought “asim-kilig” to rainy Manila by transforming the iconic SM Mall of Asia By The Bay fountain into a giant sinigang bowl – complete with broth and traditional sinigang ingredients — amid a rich coming-together of lights and music that captured the hearts and whetted the appetites of mall-goers.
A viewing deck for visitors let the crowd capture the moment when the giant installation came alive with a spectacular lights show. All eyes were on the fountain as it became a tempting, larger than life sinigang bowl, ready to bring warmth and comfort to rainy days and nights.
A special musical performance by Lola Amour in collaboration with Wish Bus was the musical highlight of the evening. The group sang their viral hit, “Raining in Manila” in a “sinigang version, (“Dahil Raining in Manila, Mag-Asim-Kilig Sinigang Na) to the delight of the audience. The performance underscored cold, rainy nights in the Philippines and the Filipinos’ love for “sinigang.”
Visitors were treated to free sinigang at the Knorr booth, which also featured a karaoke station where visitors got the chance to unleash their “inner singers” while enjoying bowls of sinigang made with Knorr Sinigang sa Sampalok Original Mix. Knorr Sinigang Mix is made with real sampalok.
This novelty event established Knorr as a brand that truly appreciates the role that sinigang plays in Filipino culture–a comforting rainy day and cool weather companion.
