Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have officially parted ways.
On Thursday, talent agency Star Magic confirmed that the two actors “have mutually decided to end their relationship,” putting an end to weeks of speculation surrounding their status.

“Gerald and Julia are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support,” the agency said in a statement posted on social media, while also urging the public to respect the pair’s decision and avoid spreading “false narratives.”
The confirmation follows months of breakup rumors. Just this June, Anderson denied reports of a split in an episode of the news magazine show ‘Tao Po!’, insisting that he and Barretto were still together.
The two first went public with their romance in March 2021, when Anderson described himself as “happy” with Barretto in an interview. The actress later called him “my love” in a post on Instagram.
Their relationship, however, had long been in the spotlight. Speculation about a romance began in 2019 after their pairing in the Japan-set film ‘Between Maybes’. At the time, Anderson was in a relationship with Bea Alonzo, whose eventual breakup was mired in controversy that involved Barretto—an issue both she and Anderson denied.
In 2024, Barretto candidly admitted that she had to “take accountability” for her part in the chaos of that period, saying, “you have to take accountability for, anong naging role mo sa chaos na ’yun.”
Throughout their years together, Anderson and Barretto were often asked about marriage, with both expressing confidence that they would eventually settle down.
Anderson, who first gained fame as a housemate in ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition’ in 2006, currently stars in ABS-CBN’s primetime series ‘Sins of the Father’. Barretto, meanwhile, is preparing for her TV comeback in a reunion project with Enrique Gil, set to air soon on TV5.
