Actress Pinky Amador went viral after posting a satirical video aimed at broadcaster Anthony “Ka Tunying” Taberna, amid the latter’s ongoing controversy over alleged “fake news” involving Senator Risa Hontiveros.

In a clip shared on her social media pages, Amador is seen visiting one of the Ka Tunying’s Café branches. Walking up to a display shelf, she quipped, “Bibili sana ako ng fake news,” while pointing to the café’s logo, then flashed a peace sign at the camera.
Her caption read: “Ingat po tayong lahat sa mga papapakin natin. Maging mapanuri sa mga balita, iwasan ang pagpapakalat ng maling impormasyon.”
She also used the hashtags #Satire, #LabanSaFakeNews, and #Kurakot — further fueling speculations that her post was a direct jab at Taberna.
The video quickly drew laughter and praise online, with netizens commenting: “JUSKO HAHAHAHA MOTHERRRRED!” “Sapul mo, Miss Pinky!”
Others called the move “bold” and “brilliantly timed,” given the controversy surrounding the veteran broadcaster.
The post came days after Senator Risa Hontiveros accused Taberna and Gerry Baja, hosts of DZRH’s ‘Dos Por Dos’, of spreading false information. The two claimed on air that Hontiveros had ₱3 billion in “insertions” under the 2025 national budget, with ₱750 million allegedly allocated for flood control projects.
On October 3, Hontiveros immediately refuted the report on Facebook, writing: “Wala po akong bicam insertions. Wala sa unprogrammed funds. PERIOD. Isa pa, HINDI AKO PUMIRMA sa bicam at bumoto rin ng NO sa kontrobersyal na 2025 budget. BABALA: WAG MANIWALA SA FAKE NEWS AT MALING IMPORMASYON.”
Taberna later addressed the issue in a vlog, saying he was hurt by Hontiveros’ accusation. He clarified that his statements were based on a Senate document and that “insertions” are legitimate parts of the legislative process.
“Hindi naman tayo name-make news. Medyo nasaktan kasi ako, Senator Risa, sa fake news na bintang. Hindi ko matanggap yun,” Taberna said. “Ang totoo, maganda nga yung mga project na ‘yon. Kayo’y may nagagawang proyekto para sa ating mga kababayan.”
He also lamented the online backlash directed at his family, saying they were being harassed on social media by the senator’s supporters.
“Kinuyog ninyo pati anak ko, pati asawa ko, pati negosyo ko. Pero okay lang — occupational hazard ‘yan. Ang sa akin lang, sana nag-iisip kayo bago kayo manghusga,” he said.
The MBC Media Group, which oversees DZRH, released an official statement acknowledging public concern and confirming that its Ombudsman had reviewed the Dos Por Dos segment.
According to MBC: “The anchors did not state that Senator Risa Hontiveros made insertions during the Bicameral Conference Committee proceedings. Instead, they referenced insertions in the budget itself.”
The network added that the anchors had made efforts to contact the senator for comment and reaffirmed its commitment to “responsible broadcasting and factual reporting.”
As of writing, Taberna has yet to respond directly to Pinky Amador’s viral post. But her witty jab — “Bibili sana ako ng fake news” — continues to make the rounds online, with many netizens calling it one of the sharpest clapbacks in recent showbiz-meets-politics history.
