Rumors are swirling that Kapuso actress Carla Abellana is set to tie the knot with her new boyfriend — reportedly a doctor — before the year ends.
The story first broke on the October 8 episode of Ogie Diaz’s ‘Showbiz Update’ vlog, where the veteran talent manager and host shared details allegedly coming from a reliable source close to the actress.
“Ang nakarating sa atin, sa December na ikakasal si Carla Abellana. Wow, sino naman kaya ang lucky guy na ito?” Ogie said.
According to him, Carla’s rumored fiancé is a chief medical officer of a private hospital in Quezon City.
“Taga-showbiz ba? Nope. Isang pribadong tao. Doktor. Isang chief medical officer ng isang private hospital sa Quezon City, ayon ‘yan sa ating source,” Ogie revealed.
He added that the man isn’t new in Carla’s life — they reportedly dated back in high school before rekindling their relationship recently.
“Guwapo raw ito in person, ha. At chinito!” Ogie quipped.
Carla previously confirmed in an interview with ’24 Oras’ last August that she had started dating again, following her public split from ex-husband Tom Rodriguez in 2022.
“I’ve said it before — it’s about time I open myself to dating, meeting new people, so I decided to try it,” she said. “Yes, there’s a second date. We’ll see if there’s gonna be more dates.”
While Carla didn’t reveal the man’s identity at the time, her statement sparked speculation that she had already found someone new.
Carla’s last relationship was with actor Tom Rodriguez, her ‘Love of My Life’ co-star. The two were together for seven years before marrying in October 2021. However, their marriage ended just a few months later, with both parties confirming their separation by January 2022.
Tom has since moved on and is now a father to a son named Korben, with a non-showbiz partner.
As of now, Carla has not issued any confirmation regarding the rumored wedding or her relationship with the doctor.
Ogie Diaz, meanwhile, clarified that he is only sharing what he heard from sources and that it’s up to Carla to speak on the matter.
“Hintayin na lang natin kung ano ang sasabihin ni Carla tungkol dito,” he said.
