Ronald Llamas questions credibility of Iglesia Ni Cristo Rally endorsers

Political analyst Ronald Llamas has raised doubts about the integrity of individuals and groups supporting the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s (INC) planned three-day rally against corruption, set to take place from November 16 to 18 at Rizal Park in Manila.

In a Facebook post, Llamas criticized what he described as the hypocrisy of those backing the rally, saying that people who have supported plunderers and perpetrators of extrajudicial killings (EJK) lack the moral ground to speak against corruption.

“Simple lang: Ang mga endorsers at supporters ng mga mandarambong at EJKillers ay walang integridad mag-rally laban sa korapsyon, kahit isang linggo pa iyan,” Llamas wrote.

The longtime political strategist and former presidential adviser underscored that true accountability cannot be championed by those who have enabled or defended corrupt and abusive officials.

He also cited the words of national hero Dr. José Rizal to drive his point home: “The glory of saving a country is not for those who have contributed to its ruin.”

The INC earlier announced that its rally aims to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance, describing the event as a peaceful call for reform amid mounting public frustration over alleged corruption in flood control and infrastructure projects.

However, Llamas’ remarks have since sparked debate online, with some agreeing that the movement’s credibility hinges on the integrity of its supporters, while others defended the INC’s right to assemble and call for government accountability regardless of political affiliations.
