Vice Ganda publicly apologized to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) following a moment on the noontime program ‘It’s Showtime’ that sparked online discussion.

The incident occurred during a recent episode when Vice asked a child contestant what he would wish for “kung saka-sakali.” The child candidly replied that his wish was to use the toilet because he urgently needed to relieve himself. The unexpected response drew laughter and surprise from the hosts and studio audience, who initially thought the child was joking.
Upon realizing that the contestant was serious, Vice immediately allowed the child to step offstage to use the restroom.
While the child was away, Vice addressed MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto-Antonio on air and took responsibility for the situation.
“Miss Lala, ako na po ang humihingi ng paumanhin,” Vice said, explaining that the moment was unintentional. He added humorously that he experienced a similar situation when he was younger but was unable to speak up at the time.
The apology comes amid continued scrutiny of noontime programs, particularly ‘It’s Showtime’, which previously faced a suspension in 2023 over separate violations related to a controversial segment involving Vice Ganda and Ion Perez.
As of this writing, the MTRCB has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
