Broadcast media giant GMA Network has proven its mettle on the global stage once more, taking home two Bronze Medals for the Philippines alongside seven Finalist Certificates at the 2026 New York Festivals (NYF) TV & Film Awards.

Winning its first international award is GMA Public Affairs’ special documentary “Broken Roads, Broken Promises,” which took home the Bronze Medal under the Documentary: Human Concerns category. Mr. Dingdong Dantes led the compelling journey across the Philippines, exposing the devastating human cost of corruption amid the multi-billion-peso flood control project anomalies haunting the country.

The multi-decorated GMA Public Affairs program The Atom Araullo Specials adds another award to its collection of NYF wins, receiving the Bronze Medal for the documentary “Golden Tree” under the Environment & Ecology category. The episode probed the high-stakes illegal trade of Agarwood (Lapnisan), considered one of the most expensive natural raw materials in the world.

Collecting its biggest haul in recent years, GMA Public Affairs swept the Philippines’ entries at this year’s NYF with six Finalist Certificates for various documentaries: The Atom Araullo Specials’ “Baby Makers” (Social Issues category); Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’s “Stolen Coastline” (Environment & Ecology) and “Unbound” (Health/Medical Information); Reporter’s Notebook docu “Asia’s Scam Cities” (Documentary: National Affairs); and I-Witness’ “Embalmer on Wheels” (Community Portraits) and “Garbage Drivers” (Heroes category).

Rounding off the Network’s accolades was the critically acclaimed feature film “Green Bones.” Produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, in co-production with Brightburn Entertainment, the film won a Finalist Certificate under the Films: Feature Films category and was top-billed by Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid. It was directed by Zig Dulay and written by National Artist Ricky Lee and Public Affairs Senior Asst. Vice President Angeli Atienza.

These NYF wins further cement the Network’s reputation as a powerhouse of global broadcasting and incredible storytelling, speaking a language the whole world understands.
