Content creators Elma Asagra and Gavin Capinpin, popularly known online as Mam Elma and Ser Geybin, have officially confirmed the end of their seven-year relationship.
The announcement came through separate social media statements on June 23, putting an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the couple’s status.
In her heartfelt message, Elma revealed that she and Gavin had done everything they could to save their relationship before ultimately deciding to part ways.
“We really tried our best to work things out. Yes, nakikita ninyo kaming masaya on-cam, pero sa likod ng camera, we also have our own problems and struggles na kami lang ang nakakaalam. Nilaban po namin hanggang sa huli,” she wrote.
Elma emphasized that their relationship was genuine and not merely created for online content.
“I just want to clear things up. Hindi lang po kami ‘for the views’ or anything. What Gavin and I had was real,” she said.
According to Elma, there simply came a point when the feelings that once bound them together were no longer mutual.
“Dumadating po siguro talaga ‘yung time na hindi mo na maramdaman ‘yung mutual feelings. Sa love, kailangan parehas kayong nagmamahal,” she explained.
She also addressed the rumors linking Gavin to another woman, clarifying that she was aware of the situation and that there was no third party involved.
“I am aware of the speculations and rumors spreading online. Magkaibigan po sila, nabigyan lang po ng malisya ang mga kumalat ng pictures based sa kung ano lang po ang nakikita, pero lahat po yon bago mangyari ay alam ko na, dahil pinapaalam lahat ni Gavin,” she stated.
The content creator appealed to supporters to refrain from spreading unverified claims and respect their decision to separate.
“This is not easy for either of us, especially for our families who are also hurting through this,” she added.
Elma also expressed gratitude to their supporters, known as ELGA, for their unwavering love throughout the years.
“We know that this is painful. Sobrang nasasaktan kami na nakikitang nasasaktan kayo. Please know that it hurts the two of us more than you know,” she said.
She ended her statement with a touching message for Gavin.
“Gavin, it has been 7 wonderful years. I learned so much from our relationship, and I will always value the time we shared together. You have been such an important part of my life.”
“You gave me the kind of love that I will forever cherish. I will always be thankful and grateful for you. You will always have a space in my heart,” she added.
For his part, Gavin echoed Elma’s sentiments, saying they quietly fought for their relationship until the very end.
“Hindi biro ang pitong taon na saya at pagmamahal, kaya hayaan niyo ko ipaliwanag sa huling pagkakataon ang lahat,” he wrote.
He likewise denied that the breakup was caused by the woman seen with him in viral photos.
“Kaibigan ko po iyon, at hindi po iyon ang dahilan ng aming hiwalayan,” Gavin clarified.
Reflecting on their relationship, he admitted that despite their efforts, they were unable to save what they had built together.
“Elma and I had a beautiful 7 years, but kaylangan na po namin sabihin sa inyo na lahat po ginawa namin pero hindi po kami nagtagumpay isalba ang relasyon namin,” he said.
Gavin also thanked Elma for being his partner through life’s highs and lows.
“Elma, gusto ko lang sabihin na habang buhay ko dadalhin yung pagmamahalan natin at isa ka sa pinakamagandang nangyari sa buhay ko,” he shared.
Though they are now taking separate paths, both Elma and Gavin expressed their commitment to continue supporting one another as they move forward with their individual journeys.
“Gavin and I will continue to support each other as we go our separate ways. We hope that you will still join us on our new journeys,” Elma said.
