On August 16, the powerful CA body rejected the ad interim appointment of Judy Taguiwalo as Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary. This news made President Rodrigo Duterte to express disappointment on Monday (August 21) over the rejection of Taguiwalo as secretary of DSWD by the Commission on Appointments (CA).
When asked if he had already chosen a replacement for Taguiwalo, Duterte said that he had already offered the post to Kapamilya reporter Doris Bigornia.
“A replacement? I just offered it to Doris Bigornia but she refused. That’s true. I was not joking. All that I ask for her is just to work and avoid corruption. Period. And enjoy the duty of serving your countrymen. That’s what I told her,” Duterte said.
On her “S.R.O.” radio show on DZMM, Dexter Ganibe directly asked Bigornia regarding the issue. The Kapamilya reporter replied, “Wag ganun. Trip-trip lang ‘yun.”
“Natutuwa lang ako kasi talaga namang trip-trip lang ‘yun. Hindi po totoo ‘yan. Hindi po totoo,” she said.
