Derek Ramsay clarified in an interview that his decision to leave didn’t have anything to do with money. Also, he has yet to sign an official contract with TV5, which would formally make a member of the Kapatid Network. Derek said that he has sent a letter to ABS CBN big boss Gabby Lopez that he will no longer renew his contract with the Kapamilya Network. The decision not to renew, according to Derek, was a decision made by him together with his family.

“Yes, it’s true that Derék and his family have reached a decision tó move to TV5.
Dutifully, as his manager and friend, I will support fully whatever decision he makes.
“He is grateful for the opportunities the network has extended to hím, and in retúrn, he delivered and served the network well.
“I know his fans and friends, will continue to support him and his future works, as he pursues and embarks on a new chapter in his life’s exciting journey.”
